About
Purpose
Genetic Frontiers is a space for a more expansive cultural conversation about the promise, power, and perils of genetic information.
On each episode of Genetic Frontiers, host Susanna Smith, MPH, brings her background in science and ethics to conversations with guest experts about this moment we’re living in—where genetic discoveries are propelling new, personalized medical treatments but also posing ethical dilemmas and emotional quandaries. In many ways, we are wildly unprepared for how genetic information can influence our lives. Susanna knows this firsthand as a previvor of a rare, incurable genetic disease, which is part of the impetus for Genetic Frontiers.
Listen to Episode 0: Living at Risk to hear Susanna’s story and the origin story of Genetic Frontiers.
